“For me, you start at 100 and loose points. You never start at zero. I never treat someone like shit. I always assume they’re amazing until I realize they’re not.” - Idil Tabanca
There’s a lot of kids that grew up like me. They didn’t necessarily have a father or male influence in their life. Growing up, their influence was the older kids on the corner. You look up to them. You mimic everything they do. But then I realized something… once you get to where they’re at, you’re like, ‘Aw, no, these dudes are losers.’
We’re in a rebellion against the whole concept of how a man should dress. Why is it that if I want to wear a suit, shirt, and bow tie, I get ten straight compliments, but when I wear a motorcycle jacket and some baggy drop crotch pants everyone says I’m crazy? I remember I was at the bus stop and some dude came up in his car and screamed, ‘Yo, why you wear those? You look gay, nigga!’ That’s when I realized it’s a great thing to offend people with the way you dress.
