If you bake a loaf of bread, slice it, and eat it, you’re going to have crumbs. You’re going to have small things that come from that big loaf. I always focused on the crumbs, like ‘I want to go out to dinner, I want new clothes, I want to go somewhere.’ Now, I’ve been blessed to be able to refocus and think about baking bread. We’re going to build something, and those small things will come from it, but baking the bread is the important part.
Sexual experience has been extremely cheapened. It’s been demoted to a thrill. It’s not satisfying, it doesn’t last long — it’s a vapor. There’s a thrill in intimacy, because we have fun. But it’s a committed thrill, not an empty one.
